This exceedingly rare silver chandelier by Georg Jensen is to be offered for sale at Sothebys's New York 20th April in LIFE + CURATED: The Collection of Victor A. Diaz - lot 842

This chandelier is one of six known examples ever made by Georg Jensen throughout their history. This piece was made in the early 2000s as a tour de force to prove that Jensen were still able to make pieces of the highest complexity and finest quality as they did a century before. 

A very similar chandelier sold at Christies in 2005 in the groundbreaking Rowler Collection Sale and was of the same design. This piece is an almost unique opportunity to find a silver chandelier by George Jensen. For more information visit :

As part of the collection of Victor A Diaz is the largest private collection of silver animals made by Buccellati to come to auction. Buccellati, amongst being extremely famous for their jewellery, the original founder, Mario, was fascinated with silver. 

His world renowned factory began to make life size animals, completely hand made, and either life size or larger than life size. These piece, especially the earliest pieces by Mario Buccellati have become exceedingly collectable. Whilst large pieces have come up for auction in the past, this collection will be the very first time such a quantity of such rare pieces will be offered from one single private collection. 

This collection of Buccellati animals includes a pair of penguin champagne coolers, the famous life-size flamingo, a giant pair of oversized sea horses, an extra large tortoise tureen, a magnificent fist caviar dish amongst many other great treasures.

For the first time Curated, Victor Diaz is opening up his lifetimes collection of world class silver and art to be offered to the public at a historical auction at Sothebys New York entitled: LIFE + CURATED: THE COLLECTION OF VICTOR A DIAZ. 

The pieces will go on public display at Sothebys New York location on Friday 13th April culminating in the auction on 20th April. The viewing has been designed solely by Victor Diaz using his two decades of experience as one of Americas top interior designers and will be a historic occasion for both Sothebys & Curated.

The private collection of young Miami based interior designer Victor A. Diaz showcases his passion for Silver & art. Led by monumental Buccellati sculptures and an impressive group of Georg Jensen, including a rare chandelier, it also includes pieces he used for his extensive entertaining and incorporated into his everyday life. He paired his Silver with contemporary furnishings and Latin American art, for a modern take on this traditional material.
